As for loosing all your numbers, I have several phones (either old ones or work ones) They all sync their contacts back to my gmail.

I have used a galaxy , and not sure how from any point of view you figure that.
Oh and I have been a apple hater for many many years but I will swallow my pride to say that they are a far easier to use and more reliable smart phone.
But hey I can understand the hate considering I was one.
