Hi all,
Well on sat night my crim decided to high side me whilst entering the M7 on ramp way below speed limit. Damage to left side swing arm, front & rear fairings and petrol tank.
Bike will be assessed in the next week. What do you think, will it be repaired or written off?

Write off mate. Swing arm and tank will be it's undoing.

This will be an interesting one to follow to see what they do..... being an older bike they might payout as you say but
the insurance companies are unable to get decent enough salvage they are stripping bikes to repair these days,

I have a little damage as I did not have some bits on which is a lesson learnt the hard way. At the moment, the shoulder is of main concern as i can't lift my left arm past a certain point. Scans show no fractures so need an ultra sound to determine any ligament damage.
The bike, well I won't allow them to repair the swing arm as it is a key component and the damage is right on the welds. I'll wait and see what insuremyride have to say.

Wattie does have a nack for picking what's a write off & what's not in the insurer's eyes.
In my particular case it appears the cost of parts & labour supposebly surpassed the insured value. If i was in the capacity to buy it back, i'd fix it & join the track whore crowd.

Buy it back blackie, by the time it's ready to go you'll be and it's great rehab.

My mates 05 R1 was sitting in the drive way and another bloke was leaving in his Hi-Ace van backed into it at walking speed and bumped it off side stand and was a write off!
It literly had tiny dints and scratches on parts and that was considered enough to be replaced!
