I did the quick throttle mod to the gumby last night with instructions found on Kawiforums.
http://www.kawiforums.com/2005-2006-zx- ... d-pvc.html
Pretty easy, just a little patience to make sure the throttle was smooth and didn't grab at all. Had a test ride this morning and its great, way easier on the wrist to get to full throttle which should be great at the QR trackday next wekend. Hopefully my -1 front sprocket arrives this week and I'll be flying, well except in corners, tricky bits, when my nerve runs out etc etc
Loving the track days though and slowly improving. Hope to see some of you there

This is a good cheap mod.
Had it done on my ZX6 race bike and made a huge difference!!!
I had to file the tabs on the inside of the throttle housing but worked a treat!

Good mod, did mine a while ago to.
Bought a pro revolver throttle a while ago, fitted it and didnt like the feel, so while a had the oem one apart, i took to the throttle drum and plastic welded it up than took to it with a dremtell and shaped it how i thort i would like it...steep curve on the take up, works a treat, helps get on the power quicker off the turns.
Was a little worried at first, as its prob about a 1/5th or sharper... but all good

its a dead-easy mod, did this to the MFP12 about 4 years ago, and yeh you get about a 1/5 turn throttle which is perfect.
Some QA throttles I have seen are down to 1/8 turn

its almost a switch
I used the flared end of normal orange electrical conduit - I think its 19mm or 20mm ?? Just cut off a slice about 4mm wide and glue on pretty much the same as the instructions in that link. Took about 20min to make a QA throttle.

I scrutineered a bike the last track day I worked that had a throttle that would have been 1/8 turn. The throttle hardly twisted at all before it stopped.

The guy had no idea about it either, he said that's just how the bike came when I made a comment about it being like an on/off switch.

Yeah, wasteland mod is the go.
A lot of race classes dont allow changing of throttles.
So the insert is a must
