I've never done a throttle cable in 30 odd years of road, track and dirt bikes. Sounds like you might have a problem with the routing or something else.

Do they all snap in the same spot?

It must be the way it is routed through the frame or under the tank, might be getting a kink and placing extra stress on it. Just my $0.20 8)

Are you keeping the cable lubed ? Once a year I squirt a bit of chain lube down mine ; improves both life and feel, definitely recommended.

Cheers,

Have you looked into Nylon cables? They're a tad more expensive than traditional steel but last longer. Is the $100+ including fitting? Seems a bit on the steep side.
