nothing surprises me anymore
told a bloke who was trying to sell me a 32 ford a model v8 roadster in 1977 for $40 that he was dreaming; noone would pay that much for such an old piece of sh1t!
in the late 70's early 80's i bought a fj ute, running with 12months rego for $12! sold it in 1989 for 2 grand and thought i had won lotto by finding someone who was mad and rich!
bought a genuine bathurst hk monaro for $1500 in 1989, sold it for $1750 2 days later. you've probably seen it, its the one in the shannons ad, the one that went to auction in 2005 and sold for $40k!
what really worries me is what will be the car of today that costs bulk in the future.
camry?
forrester?
micra?
urgh!

Mate of mine bought a monaro down in SA for $27,000 and was less complete than those utes ,but he reckons once restored it will be worth $130,000 .My missus would have castrated me if i spent that kind of money on a virtual rustee shell, but i guess as dickfaber states what will our cars of today be worth in the future,i know as will most of yous 'wish i had kept that bike or car i had back in the 80's.

Yup. The cars we sold to buy backpacks and plane tickets in the 90's now cost more than 10 times the sale price to replace them.

I would love to have my lil green V6 back! And I wish The Lad had his schmick two door Torana instead of the rusted shell he bought as a mid-life crisis replacement. Oh well, we couldn't have afforded to store them anyway, at least someone else got to enjoy them
