Gears

I have just bought a zx10 powered speedway sidecar with blown 2nd gear,Everything i can find on it is 38 tooth on output and 19 on input shaft. What i have in the bike is 1 tooth less on each gear.ie 37 and 18. Beats me. any help would be awesome

What year model zx10?

Pretty sure its a 1989 model. engine no ZX100AE038523

that's an early ZX10 motor. You should be able to fit a 2nd gear from the later ZZR-1100 motors without any problems - or perhaps even a complete transmission, it would be easier to swap the whole lot out in one go.......
