Does anyone have connections with a CNC machinist and able to get me chea/cheaper work?
I'm giving up my search for original rearsets to replace my broken one

Instead, I'll a) Design & have made my own custom rearset plates to mount all my existing control assemblies too, or, b) Spend $400 on a nice set of adjustable rearsets that I can pass down to my grandkids.

James,
I used to work in an engineering shop in Mt Kuring-Gai. I can't say you'll get it done any cheaper, but they did do a good job, and would at least give you a fair price.
Let me know if you want the details and I'll send them over.

James,
If you're interested, I have a set of kit earset brackets and levers, to fit any ZXR or ZX7 from 91 onwards. They do need pegs made up (I'd do it myself, but my lathe is out of action), and the levers aren't brand new, but they only owe me $150.
If you're interested and want to come over for a look (or a beer for that matter), I'm just round the corner.
Cheers,
Brian

Dude that is perfect!!!

Would my stock pegs fit? My stock pegs and levers are fine...
Anyhoo for $150 I don't care

I'll sort pegs out somehow.
I'll take you up on the offer to pop 'round for a look, and a coke[Cola, haha] (I'm one of those non-drinkers).
I'm waiting to register my other bike (Across

) so once that's done I'll give you and buzz and arrange a time to come 'round. Hopefuly within the next week or so.
Thanks, and thanks Dave#3, if I still need any machining done I'll contact them first
James is happy.
PS - My bike has an appointment at Castle Hill Motorcycles this Saturday.
So by next weekend I should know exactly what needs doing to fix my poor engine

I decided it would be more efficient to put some time into a freelance contract to earn money to pay a mechanic, instead of fumbling around myself... Task specilisation, haray for humans

Once I know what needs to be done, I'll do as much as I'm comfortable with and dish the rest off to CHM.

James,
I'm not sure whether your stock pegs will fit, but it certainly wouldn't be difficult to make them fit (the brackets are tapped for a largish bolt, which would be straightforward to drill out and re-tap if needed).
Which side original do you need ? I'm not sure if I still have it, but for a number of years I had an OEM ZXR footpeg bracket hanging on my garage wall (don't remember which side, I'll need to see if it's still there).
Slight coincidence, I spoke to Mick this morning, and will be at CHM myself this Saturday (stripping a YZ bottom-end) ; he is a mate of mine, but notwithstanding that I can't recommend his services highly enough. He's just finished rebuilding an ex-Craggill ZX7RR superbike engine, and when I was last in there a couple of weeks ago he was rebuilding a standard ZXR engine for Rob's race bike ; he's done several other ZXR and ZX7 engines in the past, so he has plenty of experience in them. I'll keep an eye out, and probably see you there.
Cheers,
Brian
