well the heading sums it up, i know what the stock settings are sposed to be on my 98 ZX9R, but they are for a 68kg rider.

I had a look with the setings last week and discovered that the rebound was set 2 clicks from its lowest and compression was factory standard

WTF??

Might explain the gentle undulating ride i was experiencing in the hills and the occasional good hard slap in the balls when travelling over a sucession of steep undulations in the road.

Any other riders out there of similar weight with the stock shockie in their ZX9?

Recommendations?

I've had a play with the rebound, compression and increased the preload and while its better, i'm having a much harder time keeping the front wheel on the ground as the bike gets to 8000rpm.

Just use Pontikat's settings and double them.

The first and most important setting when setting up your suspension is to set the preload for correct sag for your weight. Generic settings aren't the right way to go.

Here's an article I reproduced and hosted >> http://www.wotid.com/tls/suspension.html

And here are a couple of other good ones too..

Bah, screw what the magazines say. Just wind all of your clickers into the hardest settings. They'll still be softer than the ZX10 and other new sportsbike settings.
