generally no

unless they are caused by a worn sprocket
(which means you have to replace the sprocket)
or
lack of lubrication
when was the last time the chain was lubed after a run (that is while warm?)

hth

New chain and sprockets usually but if it has a split link in it you could try pulling it off and giving it a wash in some kero and bending the links till it frees up.

Do you know how they are constructed? oring chains have orings to keep the grease in between the links when they make them so if the orings are worn and all the grease has died in the links theres a good chance the chain is past its use by date, the lube you spray on is to keep the orings moist and to keep things moving on the outside but oring chains also have lube on the inside.

Also if the sprockets are really pointy or hooked over one way you should replace them...well actually if you are replacing a chain you do sprockets as well and its all good for another 30000km with a bit of spray and adjustment. :D
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

You've got 3 options Dj ....
a) Dont push it backwards
b) Replace it with a Newie
c) Buy a New Bike.

Isn't great to have choices

by the way the Best way to put Hot spots in a chain is to overtighten it Which stretches it at that point. Monos work on the same principal.
hth.
