Kawasaki Sportsbike Riders Club - Australia - Online Forum

Hey Guys, did a 6 day ride a few weeks back. 2007 ZX10R dis an awesome job, cant believe how good this bike is to tour on, suspension is great, light, powerful, had it loaded up with clothes, tools, booze, riding gear etc. Weather was awesome except for the first day.
Anyways some blurb and pics to follow.

Day 1
Home - Kurmond 33km.
Kurmond - Bell - Mt Victoria - Lithgow - Tarana - O'Connell - Perthville - Crookwell. 281km
Crookwell - Boorowa. 86km
Boorowa - Harden - Jugiong. 72km
Jugiong to Tumut via Brundle and Darbarala Rd. 84km

About 560km
Packed n ready Kurmond 7am 10km out of Crookwell, found out my range was 271km....

Still Day 1.
Boorowa Schooner at Jugiong... fat KiwiMat enjoying a bev. Arrived at Tumut Stayed at The Amaroo. Dinner at the Red Pub. Sizzling Duck n rice is good. Bottle of Wild Turkey 101 was shared well too.

Day 2
Tumut - Tumbarumba - Jingelic - Granya - Tallangatta.
Tallangatta - Mt Beauty - Falls Creek- Omeo Hwy - Mitta Mitta. Tumbarumba to Jingellic is just awesome, Granya is always great too.

Tallangatta for breakfast Falls Creek Omeo Hwy that red bike again Mitta Mitta Pub might have bumped into Mary Jane before bed.....

more Day 2 along the Omeo Hwy to Mitta Mitta.

Day 3
Mitta Mitta - Tallangatta - Khancoban - Thredbo - Jindabyne - Bombala - Merimbula via Mt Darragh Rd and Pembula
Jindabyne Snowy River Way Parmy with prawns n garlic sauce at the local club Pelican Inn at Merimbula is great, park in front of your room

Day 4
Merimbula - Cann River - Bruthen - Omeo - Mt Hotham - Bright
Breakfast at Cann River Fuel stop at Bruthen before turning inland. 273km on 13.5 litres cruising... not bad Omeo Mt Hotham. Road from Omeo to Hotham is in perfect shape, wow what a blast!! Creepy forest animals in Bright shop front...... after way....... to many drinks.....

Day 5 and Day 6 to follow tomorrow.

Day 5
... after a huge night, drinking unidentified cocktails with far too much alcohol after beers and wine with dinner.....

Sensational trip, some very familiar territory with the most outstanding roads. Looks like the weather behaved itself as well

Day 6

Bright - Tallangatta - Granya - Jingellic- Tumut 300km.
Tumut - Gundagai- Jugiong - Harden - Boorowa. - Crookwell. 250km ish.
Crookwell - Perthville - Tarana - O'Connell - Lithgow... 200km+
Lithgow - Bell - Nth Richmond - Home 107km.

Total day 6... 870km.... Nearly 13hr day.

Breakfast at Tallangatta this was strangely distracting to me..... Jingellic Sir George pub at Jugiong
and another Snitty and Schoohey 6pm.... roll into Lithgow Shell... 760km so far... M7RR's after 3000km in 6days look pretty good, front looks like new, barely worn.

yeah , awesome trip thanks mate, that road from crookwell to Perthville was fantastic.
Again... i never imagined the ZX10 would be that good on a long haul, was filling it half way up the filler tube on the tank cap, there is so much room for fuel in the top of that tank, i reckon spanking that bike from absolutely full to the brim you would have to get close to 200km.
Cruising its good for 270..280+
Last day was huge, 870km was doable, but shoulda stopped and done another day fresh to finish, but good to know. Sheepskin seat cover saved me, anything over 500km i will carry a piece of Kmart yoga mat to put under the sheepskin for the long haul.
