Why riders get killed or injured............

tootling along this morning to the hardware
store (SE 'burbs Melbourne) in the cage and
I saw all sorts of behaviour from one goose
on a red Viffer...guaranteed to put you in an
ambulance or on a slab.......

so
what he do?
Actions NOT to be recommended....

firstly we ride down the LEFTHAND side of traffic
traveling at 60kmh (the speed limit on this road)
but
we do it between parked cars and the moving traffic
(a gap of say a metre or so) at 100-120kmh

second if one of the cars want to turn left...we speed up
to beat them before they turn left
then
as the traffic slows (cars turning left and right)
we ZIGZAG from the left to right hand side of cars as
we pass them..at around 80-100kmh giving them the finger
as we go

and finally
at the next intersection...we turn RIGHT
from the LEFTHAND TURN ONLY Lane
.....against the RED LH turn arrow cutting across those
cars turning right with the green Right turn arrow

and then the rider gives the finger and pulls a mono
as one of the cage drivers objects to the idiots antics
(he cut him off) and toots the horn

put politely
simply......this guy should not be riding a bike

me??? I just shook my head...idiot!

people like that give us all a bad name.

i think we all have our moments when we do stupid things in traffic but we should try not to be complete d!cks.

I try to be as "friendly" as possible to the punters in traffic like a little wave if they move out of the way as i lane split or when i merge.

i have been known to give the finger or have a word with a driver occasionally though when they piss me off or try to kill me.

My pet hate is people smoking and ashing out the window.

im getting mad just thinking about that...

I'ts OK he/she'll learn the key is not to feel sorry for every idiot that crashes/drops their bike. Like all things there's a percentage of bike riders who shouldn't be. Unfortunately they do undermine the good work done by more skilled & better behaved riders.
I politely ask cage drivers not to ash out the windoe when a bike is following it's amazing how receptive people can be if you ask in a confident & polite manner.
On the trip down to the super doopers i got a lovely young lady walking along the sidewalk with her friend to put eye drops in Kevies eye. Just for the "hellofit". :D

Geez Stompy, I am sure that we must have been seperated at birth.... I feel the same way about ashers, and also do the polite wave thing for those who are polite to move a little so I can squeeze my extra wide bars (with the bar end mirrors) through.

But...I am a little bit like Fred Gassit and give those 'kharns' who don't leave a gap..... the "Withering Stare"!!!
