hi everyone, just in case not everyone knows this, the best way to cut ur beloved kwaka bike keys are:

buy blanks directly from kwaka as they use the same blank for the same model and then get a lock smith to cut it for ya

i found this out in a hard way :(
went to 4 different lock smith and had no luck

and also most of the lock smiths don't have any references to bikes as to what blanks they use by models and makes like they do with cars

hope it helps anyone who is out there thinking to cut a key :D

boy you got pretty backward locksmiths down in victoria mate
I went into the first one I passed after collecting new my bike and he whipped one off in 2 minutes. Mind you he was a "proper" locksmith with a shop with doors on it, not some shopping mall key cut guy.

You can get blank keys from Brighton Kawasaki or just go to Hampton Locksmith in Hampton St. They guy there has a bike & always seems to have blank Kawasaki keys on the shelf. I have had a few cut for the 250 & the 9 as I am always losing keys.

I just got the bike shop to order me a blank key in & then gave that to the locksmith with the key number, he punched the number into his computer controlled key cutter & hey presto a spare bike key....

I walked into the first locksmith near work and walked out 10mins later with a spare key for the ZX7R, I didn't think they were that hard to find.

A little while ago, I had a yamaha and honda key cut at the local locksmith :)

I think i'd have to order a proper one for the zed though. (Then have it programmed with the all important red key :))
