				Check what your policy covers

				Just got off the phone from QBE, and I'm now not a happy bunny.
My policy covers NO kit what so ever. No hat, no gloves, no boots and no leathers. They're all considered personal effects and are not covered under any of their insurance policies unless stated as additional items.
They also informed me that if the bike is written off and I want to buy it back, I have to go to auction and bid on it.
Makes me wonder exactly what I have been paying $1000 a year insurance for.

Thats fine if you just got your repairs to do, but what happens when you have to pay someone elses repairs aswell? Thats a lot of shit hitting the fan.

				Working in the industry, I've been telling people to look at their policies for years... but most people seem happy to save $50 an end up with a product they don't want or don't understand.
Most policies will cover helmet as a minimum, but it will be covered often as an accessory in the same manner as your gear rack... so it forms part of your vehicle sum insured.
Other riding gear is optional and not covered - the same as whatever you were wearing in a car accident will not be covered.

I agree with Zombie cause I know that if you hit the FJR for example and you turned round and said to me oh well I can't fix it cause I have no insurance. I am telling you shit will hit the fan and your head will follow

Third Party ::
That does not cover property it's personal injury......

Nice idea in theory but i bet you dont actually save the insurance money...
at a minimum you should have 3rd party insurance so if you do smash into someone elses car/bike they are covered.
you dont want to be paying for someone else mercedes for the rest of your life. plus - that level of insurance isnt that expensive.

amen to that.
ur bike can slide a long way when u come off.
it could hit a brand new honda accord parked on church street, and cause $5,000 damage. and then get some tool tryin to get cash outta you by basically bein a dodgy bastard.
it could happen.
