Re: Why Can't We Get This Here

You could order directly from the UK and have it sent here. Costs about 20-25 quid to have it shipped depending on size etc.

Kawasaki are poor at selling their merchandise, its hard to find and nobody holds any stock. At the recent Sydney bike show, all the other manufacturers were selling ...

Mobile Alarm Fitter

I had trouble recently trying to track down someone who would fit an immobiliser to my bike. Apparently you need a "licenced alarm fitter" if you want to claim a discount on your insurance.

I stumbled across T&K Security who are located in Kellyville in the northwest of Sydney but are mobile and ...

Budget Immobiliser

I recently purchased a budget immobiliser for $39.95 but while attempting to fit it I broke one of the wires off. I called my friendly bike shop where I purchased it and they advised they, "would look into it and get back to me". You know the result of that line...
I tracked down the supplier in ...

Restored Bike and Riding Again

While I started riding in the '70's I had long periods when I didn't get on a bike. Early in 2007 I purchased a mistreated 1995 ZX6R that had been dropped although it had only 13,000 Kms on the clock. I realised the joy of riding again and decided to restore the old girl to her former glory as the ...

Re: New tires..

My understanding is that a 1 rating is soft and a 3 rating is hard. The Pilot 2 has a 2 centre and a 1 side rating, that makes them fairly soft. I also notice that the softer sides wear in proportion to the centre preventing that 'flat' centre section when commuting.

Re: Unable to build oil pressure

Thanks for the feedback guys but I eventually bit the bullet and pulled out the oil pump and the sump. I replaced the oil pump rotors, shaft, pickup any o-ring I could find. It now brings up the pressure in seconds... oh and I changed from full synthetic to semi synthetic oil.

Re: Pilot Road 2's (2CT's) Opinions, Experiences?

I have had a set on my ZX6R for about 6 months and I love them. They provide me with confidence to ride it hard in the dry and the wet.

Re: New tires..

Unless you do lots of track days I recommend Michelin Pilot Road 2 they are fantastic and can be driven hard in the dry and wet. As they are medium soft at the centre and very soft at the sides they will wear quickly on the track.

Restoration 1995 ZX6R

I have just complete a restoration on my 1995 ZXR F1 having stripped it back to the frame and motor then rebuilt it, renewing, replacing, cleaning and painting as I went. I has given me a solid understanding of my bike, parts sourcing and resources in Sydney. Anyone who needs any advice on this ...

Where's the Customer Service

Recently I purchased a fine set of frame sliders (crash knobs) made by R&G from the UK. I purchased these for my '95 ZX6R because they supply a replacement radiator water bottle and I decided to buy them from my local Australian distributor, Australian Motorcycle Components (AMC), rather than ...

Unable to build oil pressure

I dropped my 1995 ZX6R recently while it was standing and running in my drive. After picking it up and starting it I was unable to build oil pressure. I rang several mechanics with my concerns and found that this is a known problem with these models. Apparently air becomes trapped in the oil lines ...
