Helmet Painting (How to added)
The resin they use on them is generally the same as that used for fibreglass and that is what some people believe is ruined by some of the mor aggressive paints. From what i understand now if you use a water based paint you will be fine. I will be using Parma faskolor which is designed for polycarbonate rc car bodies and is readily available in most hobby shops. The other paint that has been recomended to me is auto air. I haven't been able to find a local supplier of this so i will stick with faskolor. If money isn't an option the house of kolor paints are also suitable.

Yeah Tez pics when ya done please, Silverstar body shop specialises in bike painting and stuff, Dutchie is a master craftsman too and he does some good work on helmets I believe, anyway an idea for protection from bullet like stones coming at ya try this stuff http://www.invisishield.com.au/index.html might not be ideal for helmets but great on fairings
I coped a stone at warp speed from my lil' buddy Yankee on my brand new Shoei lid and it took a huge chunch of paint and a layer of the helmet shell as well just on the I in shoeI above my left eye, not his fault but I was surprised at the damage.

Actually the design is a copy from a helmet on http://www.colorzonedesign.com. I don't have an artistic bone in my body, or i did and it broke and never healed quite right. So i had to resort to copying someone elses design.neka79 wrote:wow..thats cool..and unique...
wot lid is that??
now..how abt a how to guide?? and what paint & where u get it??
The lid is a Shoei XR1000.
The paint is Parma Faskolor. Its available in all good hobby shops that sell rc cars. It is the same paint as Auto Air airbrush paints that you can get from here ---> http://www.injprint-sign.com.au (i haven't gotten anything from them so i can't vouch for their service but they were the only place in australia i could find that sell auto air paints)
