i actually lashed out and got a new pair of rain pants yesterday, the $15 specials from metros spares have finally packed it in after 5 years....goo value.

new ones cost me $30  they had better be good  didnt need them yesterday arvo - the fact i got them was enough to ward off the rain for the round trip to the radio show and back.

I think your spot on Phil. It's universally predetermined I reckon. The best way to make sure it doesn't rain is to spend money on new gear and then go to the effort of actually whacking it all on and then go for a ride. You're guaranteed to get 35 degrees, sunshine and shitloads of traffic.

Completely agree,
A mate and i were out iding the other night, it was cloudy but warm and an awesome night, no wind or anything. We were riding for about three hours in just a draggin shirt and cargo pants. Ten minutes from home and the sky opens up........

I rode to work the other day in the pouring rain. It wasn't raining when I left home but 5 minutes on the bike and I was getting soaked. 8)

All the cagers smiled at me thinking I'm an idiot but when I cheated the traffic queues  and was ahead by a mile, they weren't laughing anymore!! :x

Cheers,

would you believe in 1982, I got some wet weather pants for a trip to Bathurst.....they were el-cheapos as well, 'Team' brand, made-in-Korea specials............cost about $18 or something like that ??

well.........I am still using them in 2006   and they are still 100% waterproof  they are a bit 'tattered' inside the bottom of the leg, where boots occasionally 'hang up' while dragging the bastards on, but heh, they still fold up into the 'boot' of the 12, and keep my legs dry on the trip to work.......one day I might throw them out.......maybe.....

I've been riding all this week in the rain.
$15 pants Phil? That'd be nice.
The 2 pairs I've gone through were both $50 - both leak in a downpour
If you have no fear, you're not going fast enough.
