Two-piece leathers

Post by Colette »

OK, this is probably a stupid question, but I'll ask it anyway ;)

How do people zip their leathers together? Do you zip the jacket to the pants and then put them on like a one-piece, or do you do a sort of limbo dance and zip them together when they are on ?

Just got some leather pants and am unsure of the easiest way to put them on with the jacket.

I put pants of, put jacket on but don't zip up jacket. The zip jacket to pants is fairly close, so I just zip em together, then do jacket up

I find it places less stress on the zipper seams if you put them on first and then zip them up. And also dont leave the jacket hanging around your waist by the zipper.

I found this out on my new alpinestars 2pc. On which the stitching at the pants/jacket zipper is starting to come undone.

I'm with the majority.....not about the butter....about putting them on then zipping them together

me too i put the botoms on them the top and zip it all together but if ya have newies it can be easier to have them zipped together first till they stretch a bit.

Mechanics No1 rule: make it greasy, goes in easy.

I've got a tub of easy spread butter ready and waiting.

Thanks for the tips all, will try that technique - but might pass on the butter though, unless it helps me get my knee down or something?? :P

I zip mine together, then put them on.

But then, when we stop and it's hot, I put my shoulders out of joint, remove my arms from the sleeves and then let my jacket hang behind me, still zipped to the pants. Everyone else seems to take their jackets of completely.
