yes they love corners don't they, but down the straight road, truck or no truck, the bike is constantly moving off line "looking for a corner?" There too sensitive for my cruzy style of riding, I'll try something else next time too I think.goanna_38 wrote:Everyone else seems to be putting in their 2 cents worth in about Pilot Powers, so here's mine. Had a set on a ZZR1100. Stuck like s#*t to a blanket, tipped in well, got reasonable k's (part commuting, part fanging) and felt good all round except for one thing. Get within about 500 metres of the back end of a truck on the highway and it would start to wander and shift all over the shop. Checked and changed tyre pressure, checked steering head/wheel/swingarms bearings, replaced rear wheel bearings (the only ones a bit suspect and even then not too bad) and it all made no difference. Put a set of 012ss Bridgestones on and all the wandering was a thing of the past. Might be okay on a lighter bike, might even be good on a different ZZR, dunno.

36psi on front BT019
39psi in rear BT020
and seems ok at the mo, havent done any serious corners yet.

Depending on what type of rider you are ,and where you ride or what you use it for. If it is to thrash thru the twisties on a Sunday, and your not too worried about tyre life, i would run them a little close to 30 front and rear, and if you need some life go to 32/34..... These are the pressures I used to run on GPX's and ZZR's.

There are really only two questions in life. 1.Which way do i go? 2.What is the lap record?

Scrubbed in the tyres out @ Advancetown(Gold Coast Hinterland) this afternoon.
As per usual the pilot race rear really hooked up nicely!
The soft shinko front held the corners nicely(plenty of grip)........wasn't a full on fang @ warp factor 10 as i was only wearing my draggin cargo's & a leather jacket but so far i am happy with the outcome.
Further testing to come.....stay tuned!

The Shinko Stealth 003 ULTRA Soft REARS will be here in time for winter. Special order only 200 being made. Half to Goodna half to a bloke in Vic, the same deal as with the fronts. Cant wait me.
Sounds good Glenn i scrubbed mine week befor last on the Bellbird Park Raceway. Bounced & backed it into a coupla hairpins but thats just getting used to the higher pressure the 003 prefers.
They are'nt pilot race/metzler racetech but better then the rest of the stuff out there. imho.
Cheers Brett
