MP3's on the road? yoos don't do you ?
i try to ride to only 50 or 60% on the road so listening to music doesn't bother me.
my helmet is really good wind noise-wise so it doesn't have to be too loud.
if listening to music takes up another 20% of my abilities.
then i've still got another 20% in the bag.
now if i'm goin for a scratch, i'll listen on the way out and on the way home, but i tune out to it when i'm cornering.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
Yeah I listen to my iPod on longer trips, freeway and on the way to work sometimes. Never when I'm hitting the twisties cause it would be too distracting. I'll be taking it for the trip to the Supers so I can listen to it for the most boring hour in the world to Cooma, then packing it away for the rest of the ride through the snowies.

I do when i'm riding to work cause its via the freeway...craigieburn to rowville is a boring 1hr ride on straight road.
My helmet is great doesn't have much wind noise so i don't need to have it blairing in my ears.....
I can still hear the bike and the traffic. ( blardy Trucks)
I DONT wear it when going on a ride though....concentration there twisties etc....... plus i have Mick's bum to look at when he's with me...hehe
I suppose it depends on whether you can concentrate with the music on or not... I listen to the radio in the car.

One day I'll grow up and not take people serious ........ Nah don't think so, It hurts to much!
an ipod is good to take on a long day ride so when you get lost you can dance around on the side of the road until someone finds you
is also good to take cut lunch & make up bag for when they dont come to find you & you get really bored
could always paint a cute face on you bottom & moon passing cars if it's daylight
you can tell I havent got any work to do today

I did my research on the various Ipod forums and Shure seem to be the go.Damon ZX9R wrote:I find it isnt loud enough anyway. I need to research decent ear plugs for it.

Stock Ipod buds are shit in comparison......cost $100 of an ebay store, retail at $150 usually but well worth it.quote]

I've got an Autocom headset fitted to my shoei. The speakers & mic are fixed into the helmet. Took some messing around to get them positioned under the lining but heaps better the the Sony Phontopia(S) pods.
Most of the time i ride around with the 7pin lead just dangling out of the helmet. Yeah there ya go bring on the dnagling replies........
Cheers Brett

I find the kind of music you listen to affects your mood; I tried Judas Priest (painkiller) on the way to work once, fastest I ever managed the trip
Pink Floyd is good for heavy traffic, you relax and don't give a damn.
Generally I put music in the same catagory as earplugs; I don't hear the revs until they are higher, so I ride quicker.

some good replies here, but my reasoning is different to most...
like mike , if i cant hear the engine, i tend to rev harder (ie go faster) and miss gear changes etc.....
i drive with the stereo cranked in my car to an unbelievable level, so its not the noise on the bike that distracts me.....its 2 reasons..firstly as stated above, and 2ndly..those of u who DONT kno me, im a talker..and im lazy...
so if i go for a hills ride its more the fact that wen i pull over i wanna chat, and i use to get the shits turning the discman/radio/mp3 player off to try and talk...
also the whole extra 2 min to shove earphones in , find a good song etc just annoys the crap outta me...
i like the noise my bike makes...so i dont use earphones or music, unless going for a long boring ride where i dont need to worry abt gear changes etc...or talking...
