Just a smidge of white grease on the BACK of the pads does the job.
It is far better to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even if chequered with failure, than to take rank with those who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, as they live in grey twilight that knows no victory nor defeat.

my 9, and I'm pretty sure the 6, has a holding pin at the back of the caliper that goes through holes in the back of the pads to hold em in place - the Rclip goes through a hole in the pin to hold IT in place.Smitty wrote:what bike's this for...???
never done a rear caliper with pins or an R clip on it
and no anti squeal shim???

If you have no fear, you're not going fast enough.
Never argue with an idiot. He'll drag you down to his level, then beat you with experience.

on my 95 zxr 750 it was very easy.
1. Take off plastic cover on bottom on caliper.
2. look under neith caliper. You should see the 2 pins that are holding the pads in as well as the split pins that hold these pins in.
3. Remove split pins.
4 Slid pins out through the hole on the outside of the calliper.
5. Pads should fall out.
To put new ones in pretty much the exact opposite. AFTER you push the piston back into the caliper a little
