Although they have claimed it is being done as a 'one off' as they have determined that it was caused by 'Rider Misuse' (***what a load of crap!)
I was talking to Strika who had one of the 05's and he was having trouble with the gear leaver striking the top of his foot after shifting...

I suspect there is a bigger issue there.... In fact, apparently a mechanic asked him about it once before, and that was BEFORE it started happening...
The world is round. It has no point.

Don't you feel genuinely lucky that Kawasaki have looked after you so well on this one? One off? Bullshit! Hmmmmmmmf.
At least you don't have to worry about the legal crap had they not honoured their warranty. Did they try the 'manufacturing defect' one on you?

Hey, good news Swabio, not keen on their back handed swipe about 'rider misuse though, still at least they are doing it.

Just trying not to set a precedent I guess in case there are any more.

Hope you're back on the road soon.

Cheers

Mate I am very happy to here you're being looked after...but.....
can i ask a favour? If at all possible can you get something in writting to say what was repaired and that it was warranty. You never know but it just might help one of us in the future by showing a precendent

Maybe they have suggested that it is owner abuse to give them an out, should the second gearbox give way. Kawasaki said they would NOT warrant my second set of cams in my ZZR..... :x

Provided the bike is still within the warranty period, and has been serviced according to the schedule, then Kawasaki have NO legal right to deny a claim. They can tell you they want to, but that doesn't mean they have the right!

Unless your bike has been in an accident it seems..
Even if it has been repaired by an Authorised Kawi Dealer, Kawi will not warrant anything on the bike... So I have been told.

"edit"
Just spoke to Peter at Kawasaki Tech services, nice fellow, and it seems the dealer is incorrect and they will cover the warranty if it has been fixed by a Licened "known" mechanic or Kawi Dealer. I guess the dealer I took it to just couldn't be bothered and figured it was easier to blow me off, he knew who had repaired it...
