Wanted a bright colour for my GN250s. Guess I got it. Easy to paint with only a tank and two side covers each. What did the second GN do in gratitude for all the loving preparation and painting? Shat the stator for the second time in one year, and of course as soon as I fitted the newly painted sidecover to the bike, one mounting tab broke off- couldn't happen before I painted it.
Bloody Suzukis!

Yeah well it is hard to polish a turd, let alone two turds. The second GN was maroon when I got it, except the poof that painted it got the mix a bit pink. Was great when someone crashed the GN hard recently- gave me the motivation to paint it.

Yep do that! BTW pearls and metallics can be a bitch to paint- that's why I went with clear over a solid colour this time. I did buy a better spraygun this time, though which did make a difference.Hmmm...maybe I should borrow that compressor while I've got the ER in bits...I can see it some wild electric pearl blue with silver highlights...

You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, but they look respectable.

Re: why
exactly, and as a beginners bike, well they are pretty good. After learning on one of these, there is only 1 way for beginners to go.........Felix wrote:Bonesters full time job is as a riding instructorkermitzx9r wrote:why are you even playing with toys like them...![]()

Yep Felix will do- can you PM me your new addy? I went past your place in Toowoomba the other day and wondered if you still lived there.
I don't think much of the GN, but they are an excellent learner bike. I am informed though that when they were designed, Suzuki put 'performance first'- look out ZX12R owners, the 17Hp GN will leave your bike behind...
