Just be aware tha the $70 Hel braided line you have bought don't have ADR comlance on them.
I was looking at buy them as well, so I emailed him and asked why they were so cheap compared to the other Hel lines that he sells and if they were conformed to the ADRs.
His response was that they were basicly the same product but didn't have ADR complaince on them, thus was selling them cheaper.
Just thought I'd let you know.
Cheers

They do have a protective teflon coating.......7THSIN wrote:I bought the braids for my Gixxer off Ebay, the $70 ones. Mine ARE ADR compliant...
AFAIK braided lines need to have a rubber/teflon coating to be ADR compliant, non-compliant ones are bare steel braid and can rub against parts of your bike and wear them away etc.
My last braided lines had a rubber coating, it rubbed away some of the paintwork....
In any case, the non ADR hell lines will still be awesome...
In fact, wouldnt mind some myself...
The world is round. It has no point.

Technically yes they would be illegal on the street, but the only time it would ever become an issue is in the event of an accident, and then prob only with insurence compamaies looking to find any excuse not to pay you. Look I'm trying to turn you off buying or using them infact as soon as funds allow I'll prob be getting a set myself, I just thought you ought to be aware of the reason they are so cheap thats all.javaman wrote:What does that mean ? I bought a full set for 7 a while ago with the green outer coating - they are great. They come with the hell warranty stuff as well. Just make sure you get the right configuration. For the fronts you can get 3 different sets.
set1: 2 seperate lines from the master cylinder, 1 going to each caliper.
set2: 1 line from the master cylinder to the "T" piece, the 2 lines one to each caliper from there.
set3: 1 line from master cylinder to rh caliper then piggy back 1 line from rh caliper to lh caliper.
I got a set that was "set 1" and included an aditional line for the rear brake. Go hard boys and girls and grab a good deal.
Paul.
