Higher profile handling?
Need some new hoops for my '98 zx6r and can get a good deal on some Diablo Corsas but the sizes are 120/70 180/55. Std is 120/60 and 170/60. Just not sure what effect the changes in size will have on the handling and once they are on the bike its too late.
Real bravery is being afraid but doing it anyway.

generally a skinner or higher tyre
makes it easier to tip the bike in
for my money I would try and keep the std front profile
and the 180/55 rear sounds like an oddball for the 6
and maybe a tad wide for my liking ( a 170/55 would be ok)

Re: Higher profile handling?
J-models run a 120/70 and a 180/55 on the exact same rims, with the exact same chassis dimensions.Aussie Ninja wrote:Need some new hoops for my '98 zx6r and can get a good deal on some Diablo Corsas but the sizes are 120/70 180/55. The fatter rear might slow the steering a smidge, but that's nothing that can't be dialled out with the suspension settings...
