"No Formula One, at least for the moment, I'm staying with bikes," began the 27-year-old. "I will carry on racing in MotoGP for a while yet.

"My friends at Ferrari gave me the chance to try Formula 1 and it was a beautiful experience from a technical and, above all, human perspective. I met some great people .

"I thank (Ferrari chairman) Luca di Montezemolo, (team principal) Jean Todt and the whole team for this wonderful opportunity. I believe that my work in motorcycling is not yet done. It still stimulates me and I will stay in MotoGP for a while to come now.

"I now hope Ferrari achieves their target - that coincides with mine - to win the world championship!"

"It was a pleasure to have given (Rossi) the opportunity to test with Ferrari," responded Todt. "With us he immediately demonstrated the professionalism which makes him such an exceptional champion. All of us who worked with him were impressed by his ability to adapt to Formula 1, his talent and his kindness."

"This was such an important decision that Valentino took his time because he himself wanted to be sure," added Graziano Rossi, Valentino's father. "Perhaps the deciding factor was that when he was testing the car he did not feel that same rush he does when he's racing a bike."

Maybe we might see him sign for Team Kawasaki in 2007. One can only hope.

Maybe he fell asleep on the F1. As with the viewers.

What happened to the great race? Only to be replaced with silly pitstop games

I reckon he'll definately stay with Yamaha...

He's now got some better competition with Casey, Pedrosa and Melandri.

F1 is in a bit of a mess anyhow.
so we will get the priveledge of seing him race a bit longer

Just imagine if they could get the funding to get him on a Kawasaki & actually do what he asks, obviously they would need the Jeremy Burgess Team as well.

Hate to burst your bubble, but Mr Burgess is an Adelaide boy and he still has a house here in Aldgate.
