Innovative motorcyclist

Post by Colette »

This guy is in WA and is one of those people I really admire; i.e. someone who not only talks about doing things, but actually does them!

Take a look at his website; it's a fantastic idea imho.

He is also featuring on Your Business Success at 7.30 on Channel 9, Sunday morning: http://smallbusiness.ninemsn.com.au/businesssuccess/ if you want to watch it.

Seen many a trike fited up for paraplegics, never a bike before thugh... There is a bloke that does the GP Run every year on a BMW motorbike that has no arms incidentally, has prostheses and the bike has been kitted up especially for him, hard to spot him amongst 10,000 others though :D

Great Stuff,
Greeny could supply the name but on one of his stunt dvd's there is a guy whos legs are paralysed. He litterally straps himself to the bike and has come up with his own pneumatic system for gears, rear brake and has even figured a system of out riggers for when he pulls up to a stop, that retract when he's on the road or track. Bugger can wheelie better than most too!!

A guy in Brisbane who rides a cruiser comes to the Pink Ribbon Ride every year. He lost a leg in the first Bali Bombings, and had his bike modified with similiar outrigger supports and gear selector as on the Dreamfit bike.
Cheers,

Oh and if anyone in Perth wants to attend a champagne breakfast to watch the tv show, I have an invitation. Darren says "the more the merrier", but I think he'd regret that if a whole lot of alcohol-seeking ksrcians turned up

PM me if you want to go along this Sunday morning :)

thats amazing.

well i have riden a few times with a guy who only has one arm, and occasionally doenst use his prosthesis as he feels more comfortable riding without it. his cbr thou, is fully kitted out, with alternate front break and gear on teh same side etc.

he has getting his helmet on and off down to a fine art.

what i admire about this guy is he lost his arm above elbow from riding and it was his goal to get back on a ride again, and he is one great rider.

it goes to show if you are really passionate about something you go to any lengths to be able to do it.

it is good to know i'll be able to ride no matter what happens.
tho i do worry about how well i could controll the bike. i use a lot of my lower body to control the bike, perhas even more so than my arms. it'd probably work a lot better with a commuter type bike.

but check this guy out. unbelievable.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
