put a suzuki sticker on it......should be good deterant.
I hear those handlebar (throttle) to brake lever locks are good and in combination with disc locks It would stop them being able to roll the bike at all and therefore make removal of the disc locks alot harder.
Also, does anyone have a hidden kill switch on their bike, do they work well??
May be an option.

the guy works in a jap rest, and earns $8 per hour, and the bike cost him $4.5kSorry to hear that ... mungrels who steal others hard earned toys should be shot.
plus fix up,
it's a total of 5.5k - 6k
just imagine how many months of wages that is, and he only had it for 3 - 4 months
i haven't even had a proper ride with him

bad luck for your mate there hidepenny
Take the hint though, keep your bike "out of sight" Most of these thefts are opportunity ones it looks, pricks on the prowl two up or in a ute, looking for a bike to lift. If you keep yours behind a bush or tucked up an ally way you reduce the chances of it going missing.
As for chains, nearly any chain can be snipped in a second or two with a big set of bolt cutters. Nearly every chain that is
What you want is a length of "crane chain" the kind they use on mobile cranes and the kind the truckies use to tie down dozers and the like. It's as expensive as all shit but if you scope a few crane mobs they often have some old stuff that is not good for lifting loads anymore but is perfect for your bike. The only way you can cut it on the fly is with a gas-axe, it laughs at bolt cutters and hacksaws. Not many people have access to oxy cutting gear and wont be prowling the streets it either. You will need a hi quality security lock to compliment it too though, don't know what they would cost, but quite a bit I'd imagine. Go see a locksmith and tell him what your up to and you might get the info there.

Get insurance mate, if they cant get it easily and really want it, they will destroy it trying to get it.
Bikes are an easy target, you cant really secure it well when your out n about, when at home, they know they probably have all night to work on it if its in a nice dark place.
I keep mine in the garage. And i have comprehensive insurance.
Only way to know that your ok even if the bike is not.

I've always used a kyrotonite chain and disc lock. Used it for 10 years, parked in London for 3 years, never had a bike stolen. Had a ground anchor at home that I looped the chain through, and usually use a light post or similar when out.
Initially expensive, a pig to carry around (unless you have a huge top box
) but works a treat.

for home security you would be best to get a ground anchor and dynabolt the thing to the ground where you park and chain the bike to that.
you can get a scorpio alarm and it has a imobiliser option with it and they seem to be pretty good value and will page you if something is going on.
A disk lock that screams for help seems like a good option also because as previously noted, I can load a bike into my van in under 30 sec then close the door and disapear and nobody would notice it would happen that quick.

If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?
