ACT Transport Minister John Hargreaves has stood down from his portfolio after being arrested for drink driving.
Mr Hargreaves announced he recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.097 after being pulled over by police on his way home on Tuesday night.
"I'm mortified to have to stand here today and make this speech," he told the ACT Legislative Assembly. Mr Hargreaves, who has been a member of the assembly since 1998 joined the Stanhope government ministry in 2004.
He is going to the back bench. (oh dear....
