Cover the end of the bolt with paint. I used one of those paint pens.
While the paint is wet undo the engine bolt until it touches the fairing.
There you go, the wet paint will leave a mark and thats where you drill.
You might have to remove the fairing to undo the bolt a bit then refit the fairing undo until it touches.
Thats how i did mine.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Mate i did it on the 7 and its nothing but perfect.
1. Undo the engine bolt (one at a time). Pull the engine bolt about 3/4 out.
2. Put a huge clump of plastersine on the inside of the fairing.
3. Put the fairing on so its only held by a few bolts. This will give the exact postion of the bolt.
4. Pull the fairing off carefully so not to distort the image on the plastersine.
5. I roughly guessed where the centre of the bolt head was and drilled a 3mm pilot hole.
6. Take the plastersine off and put the fairing on using only a couple of screws. This will definately tell u if u have drilled the whole in the right position. If u have done it properly go to number 8.
7. If it doesnt look centred do steps 2-6 again.
8. Using masking tape (make sure the masking take is not too sticky or otherwise the paint will come off when u peel the tape off) place a few strips on the painted side of the fairing. Use enough masking tape so that at any point from the pilot hole to the edge of the masking tape is about 75mm.
9. Measure the diameter of the slider. Use a hole saw about 2-3mm bigger.
10. Centre the hole saw shaft on the pilot hole and commence drilling. Make sure u followed all the steps correctly cos hole saws arnt forgiving.
11. Mount the frame slider. Troque as per handbook
12. Mount the fairing and if everything has gone to plan, it should look sweet.
13. Peel the masking tape off carefully
14. Use a dremil drill to smooth out the edges of the fairing.
15. Do the same to the other side and ur set to drop ur bike.
Sorry i dont have any pictures. I sorta did it on the spare of the moment.
Good luck. Dont blame me if u fark it up

I've done it I just undid the engine mount bolt out a bit then moulded a peaice of blue tack into a point stuck it on the head of the bolt and painted the tip with white out and then put the fairing back on. Removed the fairing drilled a pilot hole where the dot was whiped out the hole saw and it's all ok
