..I found a spot that they used to do the testing on but is now a carpark midweek. On weekends it is empty and they still have all the markings on the bitumen. By test day it was too easy

I had 3 lessons with my Q-Ride instructor before going for Q-Ride, those lessons taught me everything I should expect in the actual test. I wasn't on my bike during the test though (EL250) and it was my first time riding since my motorbike accident 2 weeks beforehand so I was nervous as hell.

Its a breeze really, just keep calm, don't try to showoff and concentrate on what you are doing. The tests arent really all that hard and are just skills you need to be in complete control of the bike. If you don't pass then that just means you aren't really ready for street bike riding safely, simple as that. Its an automatic fail if you lock up your bikes brakes or drop it so I recommend you do neither, good luck

The test is all slow speed stuff. Basics for slow speed riding are to keep your chin up (never look down at the ground or you will lose balance and fall over). and look where you want to go. If going straight ahead - look as far ahead as possible. If cornering, look through the corner at the exit of the corner. Remember, your hands follow your eyes.

look and your body will direct the bike.

dont be nervous, they're not exepecting you to be a good rider, they just want you to ride safely and defensively and show simple control of the bike.

it might be hard first, second and third time they get u to do it but by the time they test you, you'll see you were stressing about nothing.

every 1 seems to have given good,sensible,sound advice..so ill make the smart ass comments...nah its not that hard, just stay rlaxed,dont stress over it too much,not many ppl fail......on our test many moons ago, the tester made us feel more relaxed by demonstrating wot happens wen u lock the front brake...man seeing a cd250 POS doing a 5m rolling stoppie..that boy could ride...
then on the P's test the instructor stopped us 2 teach us how to do a proper burnout (he was on there bike- a cruiser)..he figured he might as well show us the proper way in the 1st place!!
my point is..shit hang on, i have a point!!..they try to relax u as much as they can, so stay cool,calm,and collected..and remeber

I did mine back in April and, like a few people have said already, the main thing is to look ahead - not at the ground in front of your wheel that's about to go over the line that'll make you fail (try not to think of that and you'll be fine ). Relax your upper body because if you're tense you make jerky movements with the steering (that's how I saw a couple of people drop the bike in the swerving exercise and cross the marked line in the cornering exercise).

So just relax and look ahead. You'll do great. It's not as hard as you expect. It's more the pressure of the one-by-one testing and possibility of instant failure that make it daunting - not the difficulty of the exercises.

Age is only a number ron. your as old as u feel.

Practice going slow. Slow manuevering. Slow take offs. Controlled stops. Going fast is easy, any monkey can do that. The test focuses on your ability to go slowly.
