Parts in Syd or online?

Post by 4lex »

G'day all,

I'm going to need some parts for my zxr250a - first up some gaskets for under the airbox, carb diaphragms and valve shims, but probably more once I've stripped it.

Can anyone recommend a good supplier? I live in Sydney, but anywhere that'll deliver, I can afford to have the bike off the road a few weeks.

Cheers,
Alex

call the kawasaki dealer ,better if you go in to see them though

they will likely be able to post to you when they arrive

Thanks both. Is there such a thing as an electronic parts catalogue floating about on the internet? Kawasaki dealers I called already were less than helpful, hoping to find domestic market equivalent parts (balius motor maybe?)

Hey mate, shims you can buy from any bike shop pretty much. I think they are 7.48mm diameter shims in the 250. they are very common. I used to have a zxr250 but they were only imports then and parts were hard to get. I'd try metro's for second hand stuff(97487400). Now that kawi Aust. are importing the 250's now you should be able to oredr most parts through kawasaki. I don't think much has changed through the models.
Bikes make the world go round.

Thanks for that mate. Does the head need to come off to do the shims? Think there'll be much similarity between the A & C models in terms of engine parts?

no it wont, but you'll need to get hold of one of those valve depressor/cam lifter tools (cant remember its precise name) so you can swap them about.
