Beechmont
Went for a ride today over Tambo/Beechmont.
Came around a corner and there was a roadworks sign next corner and there is the cops marking the new slide marks on the road with yellow paint which lead to a rock wall with fresh flowers on it.
Channel 7 was there so I guess it will be on the news tonight.
RIP

Ride it like you hate it

what sort of slide marks where they?? think its going to become my new local out that way and not to far from home.
Bugger that hitting the wall stuff darwins law applies but you never know i have reguler near death experiances...well could scar the bike anyway but nearly ran over a chinaman yesterday that poked his nose out of some trafic without looking first and i am pretty sure he never saw me till i got around him and used hand signals at short range.
For the wowsers i was doing 30 kph but he pulled out about 20 foot in front of me so i had to practice some of that collision avoidance stuff.
driving like mr mcgoo he was.

If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

i was riding up there this morning the yellow markings go for 50m on the road and straight into the rock wall. The sad thing about this is the cops chased the guy for running a red light in Nerang. The cops should have abort the chase b and now look at the result and they out advertising to save lives. Its a joke they should have just let him go to live another day.

I am inclined to agree with you on that aus636 if he hasnt robbed a bank or murdered someone they should let it go and catch up with him later unfortunantly the trafic branch in qld seems to take precedence over the theft squad and handing out on the spot fines is way better for their kpi.
Copper will probably get a boot up the arse for that one though.
The last speeding ticket i got the copper tried to sideswipe me as he came out from behind the concrete barrier and i had to avoid being knocked off by him.
You dont see to many of the old ones handing out tickets and the only time i have been given one and had any respect for the copper whatsoever was when a old bike cop got me at 2 am about 10 years ago I even thought it was fair enough.
dont have any time for the ones that look like they just left school though.
and then theres the story about all the shit that got knocked off from my garage that they might be able to take a report if they wherent to busy.

This is why our country is going to shit, nobody seems to believe in personal responsibility anymore.aus636 wrote:i was riding up there this morning the yellow markings go for 50m on the road and straight into the rock wall. It's not the coppers fault that this bloke ran a red light, it's not the coppers fault that this bloke decided to try to outrun the law, and it's not the coppers fault that the bloke crashed. Thanks christ he didn't take out any other poor motorists with him when he crashed; it would be easy for him to have cleaned up some oncoming motorcyclists in his hasty slide into the rock wall.
I feel sorry for his family, having lost a loved one over something so stupid, but ffs take some responsibility for yourselves people.

did the coppers follow procedure? if so, meh, unfortunate, but the coppers followed their regulations. Also the dick shouldnt have run a red light (to me its the worst thing one can do on the road, blind disregard for anyone else out there).
In NSW at least they have to report back on the progress of the persuit regularly and abort when/if command tell them to, regardless of if they think they can get 'em. I just don't know the specifics, but i know of this rule.
