when Nakano started to disappear of the back of the front group, I thought here we go again, but credit to him, put the head down and caught the leaders even if in the end he couldn't run with edwards & hayden, I suppose that eventually the good qualifying had to translate into a result and hopefully the confidence will be up for the next few races also.

I think Matt's brought up a good point. And it is something that only time will tell... Nakano's confidence I wonder whether this will result in something bigger for Kawasaki's main man... The only race last season where he was running 3rd, and looked like taking 2nd place part way into the race, his bike died and he had to retire... So it will be interesting to see if this weeks round proves to be a growing exercise for Nakkers... I certainly hope it is..
Personally he seems to be able to block much faster riders into corners really well, but either lacks confidence to take people in corner or the bike lacks... I think it is the rider personally.. I certianly hope that it pushes him to go that bit harder and gives him abit more confidence to go that extra place.... He has a couple more rounds with the top riders out of things, so I certainly hope he makes the most of it, and goes for a PB of 7th or higher in the Championship.. He's only 10-15 points short of 7th at the moment..

I know I haven't written him off yet. It might be tight, but he's won the last few championships by more than 100 pts.aardvark wrote:It's going to be tough for him, but not impossible. Surely you aren't silly enough to write him off just yet?NovaCoder wrote:And what of the Doctor? Who still thinks he can win it this year?
Next race he'll end up 2nd in the championship and from then on I see him chipping at Hayden's current lead.

He probably is thinking the way most racers would be thinking. And that is.... Could I have got second if all the others were riding, and even some who are riding were fit???smek wrote:he didn't seem very excited for having got second place!
Without taking away anything from knackers, as he is the best we have, second in a very depleted and wounded field is nothing to get excited about.
Capirossi-Out
Bottleout-out
Melandri-out
Rossi-wounded
On the other hand, maybe a podium will give him a much needed confidence boost, especially since he did it all without a ride thru.
