Not as lame as first attempt !

Post by stevew_zzr »

Argh I stacked it again .... the lesson I learnt this time -> if you ever get taught that you are supposed to be smooth and gentle and never panic on the bike, just remember if it's wet and the rear end starts to slide out - just ease right off the throttle and at worst the rear end will keep going out and you'll low-side, or the bike will jump back up and you'll get a small kick in the pants and everything will be okay.

But if you do nothing at all, and just try to 'ride it out' you'll probably end up on yer bum, like me, watching the bike slide down the road :D

Take it easy out there !

Now, to find those parts i need ;)

Hope you're ok and the bikes not too bad, but hey, if it is, do as greeny does, except you need to drop and add a hell of a lot of teeth before you start bashing the tank in :)

if anyone in adelaide has any tie-down straps i can borrow on short notice that'd be sweet ;) JMD had no idea why my foot peg mount was different and couldn't find a suitable replacement and all the LHS handle bars they had were 'effed'.

If i had gear selector but no clutch release i could still ride it .... if i had clutch but no gear selector i could probably still ride it ... but as I am without both I guess i'm just going to have to tow it.

I've got a set of tie-downs, but I'm probably a bit far away for you to just nick over and grab them.

Yer i eventually just coughed up to the local bike shop to transport it to my place ... $50 ain't the best price but i couldn't leave it where it was overnight

Needs a new clutch lever and the LHS handlebar straightened, and I'm getting a mate to weld the LHS footpeg mounting bracket back up (thank god he owes me tonnes of favours).

It'll be dog ugly - but it'll be back on the road in no time ... semi-shiny side up of course ;)

Fark... still need to work on the synchronised binning, though, mate. Still a bit behind me and Decoy in those stakes

well that's one skill i might not worry too much about mastering ;)

yer bit o' tape for now will keep it mostly in one piece. if nothing else it's given me a good excuse to give it a bit of a once over and service all the little things wrong with it.
