Seems like the on going shinko tyre debate is continuing. :)

I can only comment on the front as i only had a shinko 003 ultrasoft front tyre(rear was a pilot race).
Tyre doesn't look like your conventional tyre re profile and tread pattern. It will steer slightly slower but i never had a problem at all re grip and wear rate was good.

Pic below was taken @ Gingers Creek on "The Oxley" after a run.

Tyres are such a debateable issue as what one person thinks are great another will say they had a shit experience/didn't like the same tyres.

If funds are tight go a set of shinkos and see for yourself.

OH Contrair Mr Mina. I have never run Shinko's. I'm a Dunlop man. Stereo, PM Scotty. He's run them and knows where to get them in Melbourne. He'll set you on the right path. I know the place that sells them is right next door to BOC Gases where Rossi works, What ever ever suburb that is???

Mag Wheel & Tyre centre, Chiffley Drive Preston

$250-300 should get a set, will probably be what I'll get next as a trial. Wear rate can be crap for the money, but the flat profile concerns me a little.

Well, after fitting a set last week, and a thorough scrub in, i reckon they are feckin great. Went for a mid week ride through kangaroo valley, mac pass, kiama bends, mt keira and i was impressed. In the wet sections they got traction where all my other tyres were where spinning up. when the back did spin up it was very pedictable and didn't snap out. In the dry where i could have a bit of fun in the twisities, they made the steering very linear and heaps of confidence. They certainly suit my riding and i'll be going back for seconds.

I've got Shinko 003's as well, they were put on after the stock tyres by Mick. When I got them I said to him that I wanted confidence-inspiring tyres, and he recommended them and said that they would do what I was looking for. I know a lot of people bag them, but my riding immediately improved so far beyond the level that I was riding at, and I have nothing but praise for them.
Cheers,
Anne

I've been running shinkos for the past few months and think they're great. They rated to 270km/h and feel better than the Dunlops I had previously, definately will be going back once they wear out. For the money you can't beat them!

Go the SHINKI Stealth 003 Ultra Softs (now also available in Rear's Too) Best Corner per $ Sports tyre on the Market. Some would say the FRONT is the BEST Sports tyre Full stop. But i won't go there till I've fully flogged the Metzler RaceTech & tried a new Dunni Qualifier.

Oh BTW the New "Crim's" come OEM with the Qualifiers this year.

The not so good Japanese ones too, the USA ones you can buy over the counter are meant to be better.
