Cheers guys, the search has merely begun. i've already got a few feelers out and my resume sent to a few recruiters. Already started trolling the internal joblistings at a couple of other companies too.

I'm hoping this issue is quickly sorted, for my sanity as much as anything.

b.t.w. cheers dave, appreciated :D

It's probably not a bad thing. I've known lots of people who've worked for Boral and without exception everyone has said they are a real pack of arseholes
A guy I know had similarly bad experiences. :?

Never a good thing to be let go like that, especially when they give pathetic reasons.

One thing I know is, if you are in a rush to find a job it is more likely you will find another bad one. Unfortunately if you had the time to look for a really good job you wouldn't need to be looking.....

i know, hence i am being cautious about where im trying to find a job.

Boral wasn't bad per-se, well in all aspects, some where good (the people were/are fantastic, those that arent managers that is) but there's apparently been a lot of rot around from what i've heard. When i told a user i'm being given the boot he said ffs ever since they did a merger 8 momths ago, there's been nothing but problems with far far too many people being let go for no real reason.

no ones complained about how i operated with getting things resolved, it was only a wanky *management* thing that tripped me up.

some semi good news, pending a 2nd reference (mere formality), i will be the lucky recipient of a new job, which is a shedload better than this one at boral ever would hope to be. Better pay, shift loading, manager that hopefully isn't an arse.

Went for the interview 8:30, recieved a call while enroute to my last day at boral (they left a vm) stating they are way interested, got references 1/2 sorted, got a police check as they do some govvie networks here & there and im done & dusted!!!
