1st weekend ride on the Z750

Post by rocketrod »

Not happy jan. Went for my 1st blast on the bike yesterday and not 5 minutes up the road i felt something hit me in the back.As i looked around to see what it was i could see that my pillion seat cowling had gone AWOL. anyway stopped and turned around to go back and pick
it up off the road only to see the cage drivers drive over the top of it.
Oh well shit happens, but i need to know if i can get an after market one and how much or how much for an original,i think it is around the $280 mark, but not sure.I dont think mine is worth getting repaired as it is scratched to buggery and its ripped the metal locking bits clean off.

Talk to your dealer. There have been other issues with this on recent models, and I belive they have been sorted under warrenty

i think the z models share the same cowl as the zx's so it'll be around $200 mark

Take it back to the dealer and kick up a stink....

Ive had it happen once because I didnt secure it properly, something hit me in the back, felt around and found it was the cowl.... slowed down holding the cowl and secured it once stopped, but I was lucky....

What a bugger Rod! :? Austreetfighter have aftermarket seat cowls for the Z750, unpainted they are $180, painted add $90. Frozzie may stock them, otherwise scour Ebay, they often have them, or a a few others have said, the seat cowl from a ZX6 fits. Good luck!
Cheers,
Anne

Ring a dealer and ask if you are not sure if they will fit...
