yes rear brake.. sometimes nailing the front brake hard enough will send the back sideways a bit.. kind of to do with inertia/centrifugal force or whatever the scientific term is... if you look at the other video that was posted up on youtube, you'll see what the bike is doing with the tacho showing only 3-4k rpm, clutch in and bike is sideways.. its what the motard racers do, back it into corners, only these guys dont have their leg out.
mccoy/rossi do their powerslides on the throttle and coming out of corners.

when i watched it i could appreciate that they were good riders.
but that near miss with the car was just plain stupid and makes me think they are f**kwits. the bike was a good foot or two in the oncoming lane. that dude dodged death by a few inches.
Everyone makes mistakes and might end up running wide and i have a few times - luckily without injuring myself or anyone else. but i aint going to post video of it on the net trying to glorify it.
Either way i gotta admit they got balls. I wish i could ride like that but hopefully you wont ever see me riding like that on the road. hopefully on the track though

to us, it'd appear wholly reckless with complete and utter disdain for their own lives, and probably others.. but having been to greece and seen numerous motorcyclists going at breakneck speeds on similar roads, i can probably say its a lot safer over there, what with the *vastly* higher car driver awareness of motorcycles, so in a manner of speaking, they'll live longer over there than they would down here.MrStompy wrote:when i watched it i could appreciate that they were good riders.

It's mostly to do with there being little or no load on the rear.davezx9r wrote:yes rear brake.. sometimes nailing the front brake hard enough will send the back sideways a bit.. kind of to do with inertia/centrifugal force or whatever the scientific term is...
