I doubt it that any track insurance costs will rise as the result of this case due mainly to it being an inquest which is al about trying to determine the exact cause of the accident that led to the riders death.

Even so, reading the article it appears as though the parents do not blame the track but instead blame the manufacturer of the motorcycle (Honda).

The only real way that insurance costs would increase is if the track was sued by one of the parties and the finding was against the track involved.
Note the 'these kinds of cases' remark early in the post ;)

the main point is that u cant prove the bike failed- it coulda been rider error..and didnt he die after being run over?? so doesnt that mean the guy who ran him over is responsible for death?? honda is only liable for "bodily harm" from the fall...

when we buy a ticket to see a race it says "racing is dangerous, u accept responsibility" ...SO ACCEPT it...

Balance is the key here. So far, I see none in this thread. What I do see is speculation based on allegations and media propaganda. There are always two sides to every story folks. Please try and read between the lines on the media reports, or better still, go and speak to those actually involved. If I were the parents of a fataly injured rider, I would also be looking to lay blame somewhere, and preferably not on my son. So take all this on board before assumptions are made and bones pointed.

Honda Have released a media statement also, which can be viewed at mcnews.com.au late breaking news. Have a read of that two. Just remember, Honda would KNOW if they were liable, and am sure if they are they would have made a settlement offer, because they are insured for it. However, they would also KNOW, if they were not liable, and would therefore not only wish to make it crystal clear of any lack of Liability, but would also want to ensure they minimise any potential negative public relations.

So please just think a little broader than what is portrayed in the media. Don't be fooled by conspiracy theories and media propaganda diatribe. Leave all that shit to the kennedy family and the moon walk conspiracy theorists.

There are really only two questions in life. 1.Which way do i go? 2.What is the lap record?

No offence to the family... but what a load of bollicks...

The bike their son was riding is MEANT FOR THE ROAD!

He got that bike..... Heavily modified it.... Increased the horsepower, changed half of the parts, removed a whole bunch of safety features AND THEN CRASHED...

Dont go blaming the manufacturer....

I feel sorry that they lost their son... but if he had not modified his bike, I bet he would be fine...
The world is round. It has no point.
