but if I was set on a litre bike, then the ten..... much more fun in the twisty's either way you'll be happy, but if you like cornering, you'll end up like Gos and wearing away at your fairing on the 12

hmmm I'd get the six......still more power than I'll ever really need...... and a hell of a lot cheaper on insurance and tyres!

DOH, I had ASSUMED you HAD ridden both and still couldnt make up your mind.
I find it hard to beleive someone could be thinking about buying either without having ridden EVERYTHING that interests you.
What suits one will hardly ever suit the other, WAY too many variables,
Like they have all said above IF you havent, ride them both and see which you like best
BUT make sure you check prices elsewhere.
AND tell us whether it is the ZX12R or ZXR1200 (ELR)
PLEASE !!!!

Yeah if they are the same price then the 10 is way better value.
Either way it is a better bike too.
You would be hard pressed to feel the difference in power between a 12R and the new 10. Yet the 10 will stop, steer and generally be a hell of a lot betterer. Plus they look better. And newer. And they come in Green, AND Orange!

big guy went thru this exact dilema recently, was all set to get a 10 and just happend to go on a test ride on the 12 before he signed.
ended up getting the 12. simple thing is the 10 starts making serious power after 7K, do that in any gear and your in loose your licience land BEFORE you gas it.
on the 12 it makes power, serious power from about 3K, at least you can give it a little to get to loose your licience land (which will take about .3 of a second)
12 is more comfy IMHO.

Lets put it this way Neka (and lets not forget Legs
)
Have you ever heard of anyone buying a 12 and then selling it WITHOUT regretting it
Has anyone on here that owns (or owned) a 12 actually bagged it.
I had a few niggles with mine (from monos) but if you know before hand you'd work around it.
The only other issues I had was when I modded it and had to tune it.
It really wasnt necessary but you just have to put a pipe on it eh?
And the one on it is so big and heavy !!
BUT I liked the NEW 10 a lot, but I didnt like how I sat on it.
Liked the old 10 more WA FUGGEN HOOOOOOOoooooo
BUT man did it near a stearing damper... just TOO much for me
Honestly its horses for courses and the same goes for the new 14
They are all different and all had their place.

...hmmm, another place to visit in my Tour to Mecca....
Somewhere around the time of the supers next year OK with you ?
It will be finished by then and you can teach me this stunting lark.

It depends alot on what comforts you need, and also on you physique etc..
The 12 will sport and tour.
The 10 will just sport really well.
I found the driveability of the 12 alot more usable, but it is not as flickable, but is not such a bad thing cause its a little more stable..
It really depends on what riding you do??
But Remember: whichever one you get I dont think youll be dissapointed

If you're a larger lad I'd definitely say the 12. The 10 is pretty comfy but there ain't a real lot of space. If you have ducks disease the 10 is pretty tall also so could be a problem.
I had to decide between the two and went the 10 because it fitted, I don't tour, and it is a totally, completely, irrationally stupid bike with probably twice as much power as I'll ever be able to comfortably use, but I've never gone for a ride without a stupid grin on my face. I love it.
