Josh Brookes Troublesome Weekend At Brands hatch
09/08/06
50 Kaliber for Joshua Brookes
Press Release Brands Hatch – 8/8/06
Josh Brookes completed a seemingly difficult weekend, up beat after finishing 20th in race one and retiring with a clutch problem in race two. Whilst the result was less than he hoped, there were a number of positives to focus and take into the next round. In race one, the bike was problematic in a number of areas which led to Josh taking a survival approach to the race and finishing as high as possible. In race two, with the problems addressed, the bike was significantly improved and was the best it had been all season.
“I had a really disappointing race one, the bike wasn’t doing what I wanted it to, and with such a technical track, you really need everything working perfectly to make a good race. We changed some things for race two and the bike felt the best it has felt all season. It stopped, steered and went where wanted it to. It’s just disappointing the clutch gave up. Thanks to the team anyway, because they were just fantastic again as usual”
As well as the final SBK rounds, Josh will be competing in the Bol’dor 24 hour endurance race in September for Kawasaki, and is in deep discussions with a number of teams for season 2007. An announcement can be expected by September as to his 2007 season team.
