Well, I'm going to be the weird one here (so whats new?)
I want my organs donated, my brain to go to the Brain Bank at RNS and the rest donated to science and no bits to go back to my family at all.
A small memorial gathering as befits my spiritual beliefs and the "Universe Song" from Monty Python's The Meaning of Life.

I used to have a handle on Life,
but it fell off.

Ron, mate mate maaaate, must have missed this thread yesterday. I'm sure you've got a good few years left in the tank still mate, the hair may be grey but there's plenty of life left in the old dog
.
Yes, I agree funerals are depressing events, but they do serve as a reminder of the person that was, and the family achieves closure. I personally like the idea of an irish funeral where no-one goes home sober, and everyone pisses themselves laughing over past events and the recently deceased's shortcomings.
Just found out this arvo that Ros' half-brother passed away in the UK overnight, so I can relate to the feeling
.
Take it easy mate.

As a lasting effect, I'd like a crypt - designed and built specifically to scare the shit outta teenagers
