id forget about using any Z parts, just get a big bore kit and dodgy up your own EFI if you so desire itwisc wrote:jee, there are a few kays on it...
thats what worries me about mine too... 58k not gonna be have a great resale value after 60k. though i guess, the plan was to keep it and not re sell it, though i was thinking about putting a z1000 engine if it dies with the zx9 cams to keep the top end. (as the z1000 uses the nine with fuel injection?)
if your going to kill a bronze, you gotta do it BIG!

why do you say that? i would have thought it would make it a little easier using an engine that already has the injection?SocialSecurity wrote:id forget about using any Z parts, just get a big bore kit and dodgy up your own EFI if you so desire itwisc wrote:jee, there are a few kays on it...

Kinda, but kinda not
the head is completely different to suit the side draft throttle bodies with the airbox under the seat (like an early gsxr750) where as a ZX9R has downdraft carbs with the airbox under the tank, which is the better way for making power as the air doesnt have to change direction so much to get into the cylinders
so that basically means the throttle bodies wont bolt up. not really much point in using the rest of the engine, cause even tho it has an extra 55cc it still has lower compression, softer cams and less revs. plus the whole intake thing, they are always going to be a few ponies down on a ZX9R even with equal mods
if you really want efi then the only way to go is adapting throttle bodies off an EFI bike (cbr929 items might be the go, they are 40mm and the injectors should flow enough) or make a custom plenum as others have done.... using Z parts wont make anything easier in the slightest nor will they fit

From my experience, with the wifey being a female rider.... Go in with something that makes you look hot but at the same time it shows you are serious.... They try to rip if you off if you dont look like you are serious...Colette wrote:Thanks for the advice, YappaYAPPA wrote:Collette, just ride in in a tight top & ask for the best trade on the bike & you'll throw in 2 cougars
