Don't forget, on a used bike you have to pay the stamp duty and transfer fees!!! So in VIC, that would be $464 in stamp duty, plus the $30 odd dollars to transfer it. Plus it's out of reg, so you have to pay that too ($500)!!!!!rocco wrote:Hi Guys,

I am pretty sure you can get a new CBR600RR on the road for $13,000 at the moment including stamp duties and a full 12 months rego!!!!

Mate of mine up here wants to sell his CBRRRR600quadripleR, might be a bit later than that one (05 I think) and it has similar Ks on it. I will have to let him know they are going cheap new ATM so he knows what to expect to get for it. He wants to buy a 7 so he should still end up with some change nonetheless.

No reply saying $15, i'm bloody disappointed in you lot....
Strika, it's only $464 in stamp duty if you tell Vic Roads the actaul price you paid for it
Nonetheless I get your drift, basically an extra g on top of 11.5 this guy wants = brand spanking new bike.

If you declare it for $5 they'll go off the redbook market value. If you pay 5 billion, They'll take their stamp duty off that.
Otherwise I'd be paying alot more stamp duty for every bike ive ever bought

funny thing is i kno a guy who sold a almost new (back then) 1999 WRX to his mate for $200....... since his mrs claimed she was gunna "take him for everything"...also sold his R1 to the same guy for $100...and a bunch of household items for $200.... figured he'd rather his mate have em, than let the EX get hold of em...

You may think it'd rubbish, but it's what they do. My housemate used to work for the SRO chasing stamp duty on vehicles, before vicroads took it over.Duane wrote:Thats rubbishBenno wrote:Vicroads actually go off whatever value is higher![]()
