u MUST be talking abt the 600rr 599cc model from 03/04 and 05...cos otherwise they were a 636cc from 2000?? ...altho it may be the same motor with bigger bore or longer stroke & i may be an idiot??

as for the original poster...chill dude... as said b4, until u got it there, its gunna be hard to kno unless ne1 has done the swap, but if u got the $$ and the patience u can make it fit...

Yes, dear boy, you are an idiot! :lol:

ZX6D/E does not equal ZX6R. It's a ZZR600, which never changed from 599 ccs.

Ever so slightly different. :)

Neka,

ZX6D = pre ram air ZZR600. What the OP said he's got.
ZX6E = ZZR600 with ram air.

Yank or not, the model on the maker's plate will read "ZX600D" or "ZX600E".

ZX6Rs started with the F model. This engine is not the same as the ZZR's.

Pictures and stories only. The pics were of a completed bike, and so didn't really provide any clues as to whether the claimant was or wasn't telling porkies.

Some bloke in the UK apparently used to do a few of 'em. I found a site that referred to him last year when I was looking for something different - a 5 minute google hasn't turned him up this time.

However, on a (very rough, unscientific and probably wildly inaccurate) quick eyeball it looks not only doable, but pretty easy. The two engines look to be almost identical in size, with the only real exterior differences being in the way of airbox/carb plumbing and miscellaneous covers. It makes a little sense, too, as the ZZR400 used the ZXR400 donk and the ZZR600 frame, so engine mounts are at least similar.

The ZX6R F model engine fits with some modification, but that'd be too much effort for me.

Would make a pretty neat little trackie, huh?
