But when it comes to money it'll get touchy. Gotta have a 'treasurer' to handle it, monthly/quarter statement etc... afterall it's the club's money.
I've got a suggestion, why not we let KAWASAKI dealers advertise on this board, collect money from them, we chip in our little bit and use the money to sponsor rider/s.
Obviously the number of riders we can sponsor depends on how much money we can gather.
And with our sponsorship, the rider/s wear the KSRC logo and that will create awareness to our site and our sponsors get more exposure...and the loop goes on...blah blah blah
Kawasaki have a race budget for dealership sponsored riders. They can offer discounted bikes with twelve months to pay as well as a parts budget. Would it be more beneficial to align KSRC with a dealer sponsored rider? (Pick a dealer who supports KSRC)
That way with KSRC and a dealer the rider would get better support. Or we could contact Kawasaki direct. (I unfortunateley feel this would go no where though as they are not focused or forward thinking).
The only problem would be the internal fighting over which dealer and whcih rider. As for financial donations I am only a newbie but am more than willing to kick in a couple of bucks.
That is only my suggestion, don't hurt me

I am interested..
Obviously there would have to be some measures put in place, one person is going to have to collect the money, someone else is going to have to check the books....
The racer in question would need to complete a certain amount of races, and obviously have our logo displayed on the bike, and probably leathers....
But overall I think it is a great idea.... and I would happily get involved....
Always wanted a pet racer....

I'm in for $50 or $20 whatever is the go.
Why not make it a fund and distribute to ppl that qualify to criteria?
Just a suggestion.
Must either -
a Kwaka
Be a member of ksrc_au
Talent
Have a history of racing or track days in the quick group (I'm out)
Already BE racing (or be someone ksrc_au would like to see on a racing)
?
Maybe make it you have to have two points or three, whatever depending on how many thre are.
or just give it to the Seatons

Just because you CAN ride, doesn't mean you SHOULD

All things considered.
It cannot be a KSRC normal member (if there is such a thing)
The ride must be a KWAKA of course, with conditions in case they swap bikes...
The rider should be riding in the national races not just back of Bourke...
There should be decent presentation of the clubs logo and not a pissy token one.
And b4 anything happens a fairdinkum poll which will include a statement of intent, of those saying they will be willing to be involved. (did that make sense?)
I know that Dave doesn't like the idea, but, those who do participate with their hard earned should recieve a token of sorts recognising this. This could be anything from a laminated card to a special KSRC pin, maybe even a symbol on ya post count thingy ???? i dunno
I rekon anything we can do to back a young rider would do everyone a world of good, maybe even us.
cheers I need a drink after that drivel...

I'm happy to do that, something like "Racer Sponsor" under the rank or something would be easy, and cheap...tape wrote: I know that Dave doesn't like the idea, but, those who do participate with their hard earned should recieve a token of sorts recognising this. I've been a member for a while now.........
I enjoy the company and the rides. I yell at the screen and post whore when i want.
I enjoy being part of KSRC.
Many a time we, as a group, discussed donating money to help the running costs of KSRC.
Dave (Madkaw) own's KSRC. We have the BEST social group without being a registered CLUB.
I think that we as cool KSRCian's should stand behind our young individuals and give them the step up that they may require.
How many of us go to the bottle shop and buy beer, grog etc without batting an eyelid.. smokes even....up to $20 a pack. Get pissed and loose a bob here and there.
We all buy our t-shirts, go to the Supers and the GP, we even go to events that are NOT KSRC and wear our gear. A nice letter from the rider and the recognition of KSRC is enough isn't it.
What the KSRC member gets: A smiley sign next to their name who donates whatever.... doesn't have to be millions it just could be $5 and the knowledge that they have helped a young guy or gal try and become the next Rossi for Kawasaki. We don't need to know who donated what. It's about what you can afford.
I'm sure Dave (Madkaw) has more had enough practice being the treasurer with handling money with T-shirt sales.
Anyway................
Gawd I need a drink now................
