i must say, is it squid breeding season or somthing? just in a single 2km stretch of road here in campbelltown i saw at LEAST 18 guys*, L or P platers, on sportbikes, wearing footyshorts, flip flops and either singlets, shirts, or soft cotton fleece jumpers.... i mean blah!

I think the legal remark was concerning flip flops. In some states it is a requirement to wear closed toe shoes.

I would love to see all kit a requirement, thus forcing manufactures to make all motorcycle clothing to a specific standard (rather than just the armour as it is now). It would take the guesswork out of buying, but probably increase the cost too.

id just like a minimum standard say:

-helmet obviously, stickered.
- Cordura, leather, or other approved abrasian resistant jacket *ie at least a dragginjeans jacket or somthing*
- at least jeans, although they dont do much
- shoes with ankle protection that are also secured on, unlike joggers or skate shoes that are gone in 1 sec.
- GLOVES!!!!!

if people dont wanna pay for it, dont get a bike i say XD (although im one to speak, i went down my street in just jeans and a top and helmet... although literally it was just down my street to the local shops about 200 metres away)

You guys would have liked the one I saw today. He was looking kinda uncomfortable on his bike. I thought it was because he was squidding .... shorts, T shirt, runners. But that wasn't worrying him. It was the junior squid squeezed between his legs & the tank!

i squid all the time...i kno the consequences...i dont whinge to ppl , i dont wanna hear em whinge to me...we all make our own decisions....
i certainly encourage ppl to cover up, and wont let my mrs on the back without a minimum (jacket,gloves,jeans,lid)... but theres been times she wanted to squid..fine, shes seen the pics of what can happen....

its all abt making choices...where and when to do what...

saw a guy on a posty with no helmet riding through a round a bout .. pretty much at full tilt for a posty lol .. what a dickhead.

also saw a guy and his misses .. at the beach on an R1 (go figure) both had no helmets, no shoes, the guy was in bordies, the chick was in a bikini.. rode away ... the chick was sitting on the seat cowl aswell it didnt even have the pillion seat on .. wtf.

Take one large squid.
Gut and Clean
Chop into slices and score meat in large crosses.
take one Pan: Add butter, garlic and Chilli ( lot's of it)
Sautee squid until golden brown and the egdes just turn up slightly...

Serve with Cous Cous and Salad or Pan fried Spuds..........

here here... it's no ones place to judge peoples character on if they dont wear protective riding gear. They make the concious decision to do it then they live with the consequences.
