How much do you expect to pay for a Demo Model Z1000?
Just out of curiosity.... Was chatting to a chap at a shop...
They have an 06 Z1000 sitting there with a flash exhaust system, oggies, after market mirrors and a rear reduction kit..... They want around 15.5k for it .... 13 if they put the stock bits back on.... For some reason i thought the Z1k's are around the 12k mark when stock and brand new....
The new models should arrive any moment, you would think they want to get rid of it while it is still a current model....

There were only three left in the warehouse a couple of days ago, but I thought the guys in Race Replica were a bit optimistic with the price they quoted me for that particular bike. Especially considering it's old used stock and doesn't have its full warranty and has been used as a demo (and by one of their mechanics when his bike broke down).
FWIW, I've been quoted $14,000 on the road elsewhere, but have an advert from a Kawasaki dealer in Qld who's got them listed for $11,990 (to which you'll need to add on-roads and freight).
Richard at Narellan Kawasaki is about the same price (for a blue), but it's harder to trade the ZZR in when the dealer is in NSW
. He is pretty keen though...

I find the sales guy down there to mostly have his head up his arse. I have no problem saying it publicly as I have expressed exactly this to Chris personally. I won't buy a bike off them while ever he is sitting in the chair. He has this rediculous habit of trying to get you to pay full RRP for "OLD" stock bikes. He really could also do with some interpersonal skills training also IMHO!
Happy to buy spares and so forth off them as all the others are great to deal with.

Im not saying it was RR........
I think its rude to talk about people without them being there.........
I was seriously considering upgrading up until the moment he mentioned the price.... Then again, I have never ridden one........ I want to get a slightly more relaxed riding position.........

By the way if you buy a demo model bike direct from the dealer it still carries the FULL FACTORY WARRANTY, not a partial as the M/cycle is being sold as new (regardless whether it was used as a demo it is not s/hand) with dealer on road and statuatory costs, if they will not offer you the full factory warranty then the m/cycle must be sold as a s/hand vehicle and is not subject to dealer costs.

God it was good to be in sales, wish I still was, I might have been able to help a few of you blokes out.
N.B. Report this arsewipe to the ACCC, there may be a case of fraud to answer if he tries to claim Dealer costs on a S/hand bike, also report him to the M/cycle manufacturers office here in Oz and tell them of your intention to report the dealer and them to the ACCC for fraud, about 90% of the time that lights a fire under their arse and gets the f*ckwit in a whole shitload of trouble.

I would have thought that a motorcycle with a full after market system would not be covered by a factory warranty......les2010 wrote:By the way if you buy a demo model bike direct from the dealer it still carries the FULL FACTORY WARRANTY, not a partial as the M/cycle is being sold as new (regardless whether it was used as a demo it is not s/hand) with dealer on road and statuatory costs, if they will not offer you the full factory warranty then the m/cycle must be sold as a s/hand vehicle and is not subject to dealer costs.

As a personal observation, you really need to stop finding excuses for people looking to relieve you of your money... first that episode with the collections agency a couple of months back, now this.Stereo wrote:I would have thought that a motorcycle with a full after market system would not be covered by a factory warranty......les2010 wrote:By the way if you buy a demo model bike direct from the dealer it still carries the FULL FACTORY WARRANTY, not a partial as the M/cycle is being sold as new (regardless whether it was used as a demo it is not s/hand) with dealer on road and statuatory costs, if they will not offer you the full factory warranty then the m/cycle must be sold as a s/hand vehicle and is not subject to dealer costs.
To answer your question, an ex-demo Z1000, with the new models mere weeks away and bike sales grinding down as people are uppign stumps for the holidays and litre sportsbikes are walking out the door for 16 grand... anything over 11.5 grand would be an insult, and yes, that's *with* the aftermarket bits...
...what's a set of oggies worth? $70? Big faken whoop.
