Seeing as the tyre is not fit to ride down to the shops to buy the milk even, I pulled the front wheel out today to take it in tommorrow. I also took the opportunity to take a pic from further away to allow the top notch little pentax to have a fair crack at focusssing!!!

mate, I reckon you could get a few $$$ for that on ebay........

one of the latte crowd may buy it to get some street cred

and lets face it they'd never use that much of the tyre so it'd be perfect for them!

You dont need new tyres mate, just a quick buff with a bit of shoe polish

Frogz....after a proper inspection, it was a sensible idea to pull out the front wheel and drive it in to the shop, rather than ride the 6klms and risk the tyre literally falling apart! I reckon if I squezed and extra Psi into that tyre, it would fall apart at the seams. It will be scary to see how thin the actual tyre is once they pull it off the rim.

I am going to keep this tyre as a reminder never to wear them this long ever again!!!!!!!

Anyone remember "Honest Muzz" (trail & track?) when they said drilling short holes in the knobbies will get ya back that driving edge for the dirt?

Funny thing was I adapted the idea and used an 5" grinder cuttoff disk to square of the edges and a groove or 2 a few times and actually works (not the drilling holes as that would last 2 seconds on the rear of an IT465)

Mind you nuthin lasts long on the back of that bike

Thats not a tyre problem it's a wallet problem. Your's has seized up!!

Lucky they don't do retreads for road bikes or we'd be hearing ALL about 'em.

Honest Muzz !!! Hell yeah, I remember him, I even had the Honest Muzz T-shirt from ADB back in the early 80's !! he was a *true* legend.

I wil give the angle-grinder idea a run mate, thats sounds right up my alley !!!

Yes it does work same as buying chineese cheap tyres and chuckin' them in the dark roof space for 6 months to harden them up. Used a tyre a month on the IT sometimes more, the edge thing will work as long as ya careful.

1 year up , I think Jonno is about the same, and the "Old Man Of The Sea" is Smitty (Yoda).

We did an "age" thread a while ago, it might still be found using the search function ?
