Yodas new tyre

Post by Smitty »

well all
It has finally happened
I have to get a new rear...
..after 5 years and 17000km and more to come.....
(yeah..I know...do more miles.... :) )
the Bridgie BT17 rear that i have has a split in the sidewall
so I am up for a new rear....
still
not bad 17000k and 4 track days at PI
can't complain...
so
to match the BT45 on the front...which is a great tyre
and after advice from Phil (and Tum)
I am getting a BT45 on the rear

the cost....weep you sportsbike riders
$170 ..the lot...old off, new on and balanced
takes an hour to do...at Brighton Kwaka

only thing...
gonna have to take it easy next weekend on the ride....
new tyre you see...

cheers

WoooHooo

Yodas getting a new rear tyre!!!

17,000K's that aint bad! :P
I once got less than that from a set of tyres on my car! hahaha
but it did cost me a little more than $170 to replace a set of cage tyres! :(

Enjoy the new rubber!!

absolutely brilliant...
did 250km and speeds up to....mumble mumble....
not guilty ya honour...

took it easy for the first few k's
but after that....?
well thanks to Phil and Tim, I have a bloody good tyre

So down the track now Smitty, what do you think of the tyre?
my last was a crappy BT and honestly that waste of rubber never held traction.

I had BT45's on my ZZR. They were ok I guess, much better than stock standard but the front feathered really badly and they didn't have all that much grip. I could get them pretty much over to the edge but wear rate was pretty quick.

down the track?....very apt
just got back from murdering 2 BT45's at PI today
(at the track day with quite a few other Vic members)
and they went well...got a heavy hand from me
(piccies below) but they hung on..and hung on
I quite like the Bridgestone, and I am limited with tyres to fit the
750, not many are made to suit it and its rim width!
(I can't comment on the BT on 2fiddys and others)
Provided you get the pressures right they are OK
(I started out too low and it wanted to throw me orf  )
and
as a road tyre for my 750monster, they are fine....

oh
and no smartarse comments re 'strips' ok?
cheers
